TagTower

Don’t you hate it when you want to open a file, but you can’t remember where you put it? With TagTower by your side, you don’t have to remember where you put the file, you just have to remember what tag you assigned to it. You see, TagTower is a file tagging utility that lets you tag files so that you can manage them more easily. Finding a file becomes a piece of cake thanks to TagTower and the functionality it has to offer.

TagTower provides support for 32 and 64-bit editions of Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Getting the application up and running on a PC is a very straightforward matter: download an archive, extract and run the executable inside, click through the instructions presented by a setup wizard. The TagTower installation process will complete in little time and will go along smoothly.

All your tags are displayed in a blue pane on TagTower’ interface (it’s blue by default; you can change the background color and you can also use an image as the background). Select a tag and the files with that tag will be displayed as a list in the pane underneath (the list view is selected by default; you can switch to a thumbnail view if you want to). Both panes feature a slider in the right hand side – the slider can be used to zoom in on the tags and on the files with a specific tag. There’s nothing complicated about the interface; it will take but a moment to figure things out.

The easiest way to get started with TagTower’s functionality is to just drag and drop a file or folder onto its interface. Do so and you will be presented with the Add Items window that lets you assign a tag to that file or folder. The Add Items window also lets you load more files or folders. You can easily assign a tag to each file or folder you select – just select the tag you want from the list to the right or create a new tag and then select it.

As mentioned above, all your tags are displayed on TagTower’s interface. Select a tag and all the files or folders with that tag will be displayed as a list. When you want to locate a file, just remember the tag you assigned to it and you can easily find it.
